Police near the US city of Houston have cornered a man suspected of killing six people, including four children.
Police say the shootings, in the town of Spring, 25 miles (40km) north of Houston, happened after a domestic dispute got out of control.
One woman is in critical condition after being shot in the head, but she was able to identify the suspect and direct police to him.
He was found in his car not far from the crime scene, police said.
He had led officers on a chase lasting half-an-hour before they trapped him. Negotiations are now under way.
Pictures from local broadcaster KTRK showed a small car in a cul-de-sac sandwiched between two lorries with a dozen police vehicles near it.
Police were called to a house about 18:00 (23:00 GMT) and found three children and two adults dead, a Harris County Sheriff's Office statement said.
A fourth child died in hospital.
